PONY EXPRESS STABLES, St. Joseph, Mo.  Riders rode from St. Joseph, Mo, to Sacramento, California. The Pony Express could deliver a letter faster than ever before, but only operated from April 1860 to October 1861. Nevertheless, has become synonomous with the Old West. The transcontinental telegraph came into use in October 1861 and was the immediate cause of the Pony Express's demise. The Stables is now a Transport Museum, documenting the history of the Pony Express. This art print, by midwest artist, Diana Perry, is available as an 8 x 10 image in an 11 x 14 cream colored mat.
